About Me

I am Wenjun Wang, an NCI K00 Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. My research explores how physical and metabolic cues work together to regulate disease progression, with a focus on cancer and metabolic disorders.

Broadly, I aim to map the reciprocal mechano-metabolic network linking tissue mechanics and metabolism, uncover therapeutic targets, and develop biomaterial-based strategies to restore tissue balance. Through this work, I seek to bridge fundamental discovery with translational innovation to improve human health.

I received my B.S. in Biological Science from the Ocean University of China, where I led the OUC iGEM Team in the 2013 International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Competition. After graduating in 2015, I pursued an M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University under the mentorship of Dr. Cynthia Reinhart-King and Dr. François Bordeleau. In 2017, I moved with Dr. Reinhart-King’s lab to Vanderbilt University, where I began my Ph.D. in 2018 and completed it in 2024. Following graduation, I joined Dr. David Mooney’s lab at Harvard for my postdoctoral training.

If you are interested in discussing mechanobiology, metabolism, biomaterials, or my scientific journey, I’d love to connect!
